For years folks have loved the fantastic thing about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s music. The 15th-century Franco-Flemish composer Johannes Ockeghem’s French chansons have been just like the pop songs of his day. Although these works for multiple singers are thick with contrapuntal strains, and have a tinge of austere Renaissance sacred music, they are also attractive, sensual and nuanced, as Blue Heron’s splendid account of Everlasting vierge” demonstrates. Believe it or not, these poetic pictures are actually “painted” throughout the Spring movements of The Four Seasons. The fowl calls can be heard within the Allegro, First movement from the Spring concerto. They appear right when the violin solos begin (about 30 seconds into the piece). This gives technique to the undulating sounds of a rushing brook. Next lightning and thunder are heard only to subside as the chicken calls return.
This piece of music theater, a few B-film star of the Nineteen Forties, was neatly staged as a movie within an opera on the Prototype festival in 2018. It really works nearly as effectively audio-only, thanks to a powerful cast, Deborah Artman’s artful libretto and Mr. Gordon’s pummeling but melodious model of submit-Minimalism. S.C.W.
Chopin was a virtuoso of the piano and respected by his friends. A virtuoso is a performer who has unbelievable technical abilities on the instrument. You may think of a virtuoso as “the best of the most effective!” This degree of skill isn’t one thing with which a person is innately born; years of preparation and devoted follow are required. Chopin composed a collection of etudes, or technical research, to proceed to develop his personal pianistic abilities in addition to these of his students. Whereas we normally do not get excited about listening to piano exercises, the etudes are rather more than mere finger workout routines and one thing not to be missed. I recommend listening to not less than two of the Chopin etudes: the majestic Revolutionary Etude (Op. 10, No. 12) and the Black Key Etude (Op. 10, No. 5).
The official identify of this piece is the Serenade No. thirteen for strings in G major , and it was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1787. Mozart himself gave the piece its nickname, when he jotted this title down in the log e book he kept detailing all the music he wrote.
In 1781, he was commissioned for an opera known as Idomeneo. The operas he produced have been accepted effectively at first. He had some success along with his Italian and German operas, but the success was not significant enough. He continued to come across financial hardship. By 1787 he was once again employed by a courtroom, but as a composer this time. He wrote music for royal dances. This place supplied him with a gentle earnings, but his spending habits left him with lower than he wanted.
